THE REGISTRAR’S OFFICE

The Registry is headed by the Registrar, who is responsible to the Rector in the discharge of administrative duties. The Registrar is the secretary to the Governing Council and the Academic Board, and to other Boards and Committees which are prescribed by the Polytechnic statutes

registrar1Mrs. Rita Kaine, MBA (HRM), BSc, PGD (Organ. Development)

Mrs. Rita Kaine joined Accra Polytechnic in 1997 as a Senior Administrative Assistant and was promoted to Assistant Registrar with oversight responsibilities of the administration / personnel unit in 2003. She acted as Registrar from August 2006 to 2007 until she was appointed Registrar in September 2007.

She had her MBA (Human Resource Management) and BSc (Business Administration) in 2002 and 1996 respectively, from the University of Ghana and University of Lagos, Nigeria. She also has a post graduate diploma certificate in Organisation Development.

RESPONSIBLITIES OF THE REGISTRAR

The Registrar coordinates and supervises the Polytechnic’s administrative machinery, specifically in matters relating to the following:

  • General administration
  • Staff recruitment, placement, and separation;
  • Staff welfare;
  • Legal and statutory issues; and
  • Academic affairs; etc

The Registrar is supported by a variety of administrators and professionals staff who hold the various departments of the office and service committees and the boards of the Polytechnic.
